Q: Why should I use acid-free products?

A: You should use acid-free products because acid in your paper can cause discoloration of your photos. It can ruin memorabilia by turning it yellow or brown, or even causing it to crack. Our goal is to help you create lasting keepsakes, so we recommend acid-free products that will preserve your memories for a lifetime.

It's not just the paper that needs to be acid-free: we also carry acid-free stickers, adhesives, albums and embellishments.

Q: I have been preserving photos in magnetic albums, and have discovered that they are now stuck to the pages and have become discolored. How can I safely remove these photos and prevent further damage?

A: Your photos can be removed using one of these techniques:

• You can place your pages in the freezer. This will cause the adhesive holding your pictures in the album to crack and release the picture.
• You can also try running a piece of dental floss underneath the picture to release the adhesive.
• We carry a product called Un-du, which will neutralize the adhesive on your photos and allow you to remove them from your photos. This product is acid-free and will not damage your photos.
